The New York Times has introduced Strands, a new daily puzzle that adds a unique twist to the classic word search. This one will put your word-finding skills to the test!
Just like Wordle, Connections, and the Mini Crossword, Strands can be challenging, so if you’re ever stuck, a hint might be just what you need. And if you want to check today’s answer, scroll to the bottom for the solution.
How to Play NYT Strands
Each Strands puzzle starts with a grid of letters. Your goal is to locate “theme words” hidden within. To select a word, drag or tap through the letters and double-tap the final letter to lock it in. If correct, the word will highlight in blue and be removed from play.
If you find words that aren’t theme words, don’t worry! For every three valid non-theme words (at least four letters long), you’ll get a bonus hint — the letters of a theme word will be revealed, needing only to be unscrambled.
All letters in the grid contribute to theme words, so each letter is used once and only once. Additionally, each puzzle features one “spangram” — a unique theme word stretching from one side of the board to the other, highlighted in yellow once found.
