NYT Connections: hints and answers for Sunday, October 6

Connections is the latest word puzzle from the New York Times, where the challenge is to organize a set of 16 words into four secret groups. Each group contains four words that are related in some way. The puzzle refreshes daily at midnight, so you can come back every day to test your skills and keep your streak alive, just like with Wordle!

How to Play NYT Connections

You’re presented with a grid of 16 words, and your task is to group them into four sets of four based on how they’re related. The connections can range from video game franchises to types of cheese or even things like shades of color. Your job is to find the common thread between each set of words.

Some words might seem like they fit into more than one group, but only one solution is correct. You can rearrange the grid and shuffle the words to help see different patterns and connections. Once you think you’ve got a set of four, select them and hit “Submit.” If you’re correct, those words disappear, revealing the theme that connects them. If you’re wrong, it counts as one of your four allowed mistakes before the game ends.

Each group is color-coded, with yellow being the easiest to solve, followed by green, blue, and purple as the most challenging.
