Connections is the latest puzzle game from the New York Times that challenges you to organize a grid of 16 words into four hidden groups by figuring out how the words relate. Like with Wordle, each puzzle resets at midnight, and you can track your streak and compare your scores with friends.

Some days can be tougher than others, so if you’re having a hard time cracking today’s Connections puzzle, you can find hints and tips below. And if you’re still stumped, the full answer is provided at the end!

How to Play Connections

In each Connections puzzle, you’ll get a grid of 16 words. The goal is to categorize these words into four groups of four based on what connects them. The connections could range from movie titles and colors to measurement units or expressions.

Game Tips
Sometimes words may appear to fit multiple groups, but there’s only one correct solution. You can also shuffle the word grid to help identify different connections. Each group is color-coded, with yellow being the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple.

To play, select four words and hit Submit. If they’re correctly grouped, they’ll be removed from the grid, and the theme will be revealed. Guess wrong, and it counts as a mistake. You have four mistakes before the game ends.
