Dragon Age: The Veilguard is full of quests and hidden paths, and while many can earn you valuable rewards or story elements, only specific ones will lead you to the game’s true ending. To experience the complete story, you’ll need to follow a few key steps along the way. Here’s how to make sure you don’t miss the true ending, all without any spoilers!
Requirements for the True Ending
To unlock the true ending, complete these essential objectives before reaching the story mission When Plans Align, the game’s point of no return.
Step 1: Complete “Regrets of the Dread Wolf”
- Collect Solas’s Memories: This side quest involves collecting six memories of Solas during his rebellion.
- Main Story Memories: Two of these memories are collected automatically.
- Missable Memories: The other four are located in the Crossroads and are marked on your map when the quest is active.
- Accessing the Memories: Certain memories are locked behind gates that open only after defeating three Champions in different regions. Complete these three subquests to unlock the gates:
- Gate of Lost Ages
- Gate of Faded Flories
- Gate of Deep Sorrows
Step 2: Speak to a Fragment of Mythal
Once you’ve collected and viewed all of Solas’s memories, go to the Crossroads to find a fragment of Mythal. Use these dialogue choices to ensure Mythal’s support:
- “I want your help”
- “We must stop the blight”
- “You stood against it”
- “We must stop the gods”
- “They wronged you”
- “We are worthy”
- “Building a safe place”
This will grant you Mythal’s Light and prevent a fight with her.
Step 3: Locate the Three Mysterious Circles
To fully unlock the true ending, you’ll need to find and interact with three Mysterious Circles scattered around Thedas:
- First Circle – Arlathan Forest:
- Location: Waterfront Glades
- Puzzle: Solve the beam puzzle to create a bridge to a crystal on an island.
- Challenge: Be prepared to face a miniboss before interacting with the circle by the pillar.
- Second Circle – Necropolis Halls:
- Requirements: Complete Emmrich’s companion quest Restless Spirits and the side quest Pinnacle of Its Kind.
- Location: The left side of the room where you fought the dragon known as The Formless One.
- Third Circle – Crossroads:
- Quest: Finish The Heart of Corruption quest to reach the final circle.
- Location: Follow the waypoints and defeat the bosses along the path. The circle is at the end of the arena where you fought the Revenant Dragon; climb the left path to reach it.
