A year after its release, Starfield, one of the best Xbox Series X games, has launched its first major expansion: Shattered Space. This DLC brings a wealth of exciting new content, including fresh planets to explore, intriguing factions to meet, and powerful new weapons to add to your arsenal. With such a vast universe to navigate, you might worry about getting lost or not knowing where to find the new content. But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! Here’s a simple guide to help you dive straight into Shattered Space without aimlessly wandering through the cosmos.
Starfield: How to start the Shattered Space DLC
Once you’ve purchased and installed the Shattered Space DLC, you’re just a few easy steps away from starting your new adventure.
Step 1: Finish “One Small Step” Mission
If you’re starting a new save or using an existing one, make sure you’ve completed the mission One Small Step. This is the very first mission that introduces you to the Constellation faction. It’s quick and only takes about an hour if you haven’t finished it yet.
Step 2: Enter Your Ship
Hop into your spaceship and choose any orbit on the map that doesn’t have an active mission assigned to it.
Step 3: Jump to the Location
After selecting a random orbit, initiate your jump. You’ll receive a distress call from a space station called The Oracle, which will kickstart the DLC content.
While you’re free to start the DLC at any point in your game, it’s recommended that you wait until you’re at least level 35 or higher to get the most out of the new challenges and content.
