What to expect in Gokurakugai chapter 22

The next chapter will likely pick up right where the last one left off, at the eerie abandoned mansion. There, a humanoid Maga killed two men, and we’re expecting to learn more about this new character, possibly another member of Yomi’s “Maga family.”

It’s also highly likely that this scarred blond man is the same figure we saw in the family portrait of Yomi and his Maga allies on the cover of the last chapter. He may also be tied to the family shown in the broken photograph found in the mansion.

Alternatively, Chapter 22 could shift its focus to Nei Takarai, a member of the Saragi Anti-Maga Organization. There’s a strong resemblance between the little girl in the broken photo and Nei, suggesting that the mysterious man might be connected to her past in some way.

In Chapter 21, titled Family, we saw Tao driving Utsuro back to base with Alma. Once they arrive at Saragi Headquarters, Kisabe tends to Alma’s injured eye, noting that it’s healing slower than expected due to his encounter with the Blood-loss Death Maga. Alma acknowledges that Tao’s intervention likely saved his life during that battle.

Afterward, they head to the interrogation room. Orono, overseeing Utsuro’s detention, insists that Alma speaks to her alone about Yomi. Reluctantly, Alma agrees and is given a list of questions to ask.

Inside, Utsuro warmly greets Alma, but her focus on their “relationship” frustrates him. Alma tries to get her to see him as he truly is, not the idealized version she holds in her mind. This emotional exchange leads to Utsuro confessing her love for Alma.
