Connections is the latest brain-teasing puzzle from The New York Times. The game challenges you to sort a grid of 16 words into four hidden categories by identifying how the words are related. How to Play Connections
In this puzzle, you’re presented with 16 words arranged in a grid. Your goal is to figure out how they connect, organizing them into four groups of four words each. The groups can be based on anything from video game titles and book series to colors or even chain restaurants.
Some words may seem like they belong in more than one group, but there’s only one correct way to categorize them. You can rearrange and shuffle the words on the grid to see the connections more clearly. Each group is color-coded based on difficulty—yellow is usually the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple.
To play, you select four words and hit “Submit.” If you’re right, the group is removed from the grid and the connecting theme is revealed. If you’re wrong, it counts as a mistake, and you only get four mistakes before the game ends.
