NYT Connections: hints and answers for Wednesday, October 2

The New York Times has a fun new puzzle game called Connections. It challenges you to sort 16 words into four hidden groups by figuring out how they relate to each other. Each day’s puzzle has different levels of difficulty, and just like Wordle, you can track your streak and compare your scores with friends.

Some puzzles can be trickier than others, so if today’s Connections is giving you a hard time, don’t worry! We’ve got some tips and hints to help you solve it, and if you’re still stuck, we’ll reveal the answers at the end.

How to Play Connections:

In Connections, you’ll see a grid of 16 words. Your job is to group them into four sets of four by figuring out what connects them. The themes could range from video game franchises to book sequels, shades of a color, or restaurant names.

Some words might seem like they fit multiple categories, but there’s only one correct solution. You can shuffle the grid and rearrange the words to spot the connections more easily.

Each group has a color code: yellow for the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple as the hardest. Once you’ve chosen four words, hit Submit. If you’re right, the words will disappear, and the theme will be revealed. But be careful! You only get four mistakes before the game ends.
