Netflix has reportedly greenlit a second season of Bloodhounds, nearly a year after its debut. This action-packed Korean drama, which follows the lives of two rebellious boxers fighting the country’s illegal loan sharks, returns for another dramatic clash. With its captivating storyline and fascinating bromance, the series became popular in no time.

The Korean news outlet Sports Seoul revealed on April 29 that the lead actors from Netflix’s series Bloodhounds will be returning for a second season.  The report follows the future production of the Korean drama. “Lead actors Woo Do Hwan and Lee Sang Yi who gained great popularity by showing off their bromance in Season 1, will also join Season 2. ‘Bloodhounds’ Season 2 is scheduled to begin filming in the second half of this year,” according to a local report by journalist Kim Hyeon Deok.

The show’s production is scheduled to start in the second half of 2024, which means the final series might be available on OTT platforms by 2025. On June 9, 2023, the first season of Bloodhounds debuted globally on the streaming platform. The series is based on Jeon Chan’s same-named webtoon show.

While shooting Bloodhounds’ first season, actress Kim Sae Ron’s DUI incident sparked outrage and prompted her to leave early. Producers reacted by shortening and heavily editing her scenes. Her role in season two is uncertain.
