Based on the Marvel Comics series of the same name, What If…? is an American animated anthology series made by A. C. Bradley for the streaming platform Disney+. The first animated series from Marvel Studios Animation, it is the fourth TV show in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) that Marvel Studios has developed. The show investigates alternative multiverse histories to explain what might happen if key events from the MCU movies had taken place in a different way. The first two seasons are directed by Bryan Andrews, with Bradley serving as the show’s chief writer.
As a part of Phase Four of the MCU, the first season of What If…? debuted on August 11, 2021, and lasted nine episodes before ending on October 6. Phase Five is anticipated to include a second nine-episode season, and a third season is currently being created.

Additionally, from an episode that was omitted from the first season but will be included in the second, Cynthia McWilliams and Mick Wingert reprise their respective roles as Tony Stark/Iron Man and Gamora.

What if…? Season 2: Plot
What If…? Season 2 is planned to proceed in the same manner as season 1, which means that it will also have nine episodes. The icing on the cake is that we actually have a clip from the second installment’s first episode, “What If. How did Captain Carter deal with the Hydra Stomper? According to the official narrative, Peggy Carter/Captain Carter thought Steve Rogers was dead for a very long time until he was found alive as the evil Hydra Stomper.
What if…? Season 2: Release Date
As of now, there is no update from the network regarding the release date of Season 2. However, like most fans, we expect the series to return by the end of 2023 or early 2024.
