‘We’ll lead with brotherhood’: Dwayne Johnson will return as Luke Hobbs in new Fast and Furious film
In the post-credits scene from Fast X, Dwayne Johnson’s return as Luke Hobbs in the Fast & Furious series astounded fans and audience. This is because, following his long dispute with Vin Diesel, Johnson stated in 2021 that he would never return to the Fast series.
Dwayne Johnson has officially stated that he will reprise his role as Hobbs in the forthcoming Fast & Furious film, FASTX: Part II. Fast 11 is anticipated to be released in 2025, but no official date has been set.
On June 1, 2023, Dwayne shared a video on his Instagram account to announce his reconciliation with Vin Diesel after a long conflict and his comeback as Luke Hobbs in the Fast and Furious franchise.
In the caption, the actor penned “Hope you’ve got your funderwear on… HOBBS IS BACK. And he just got lei’d. Luke Hobbs will be returning to the Fast & Furious franchise. Vin and I put all the past behind us. We’ll lead with brotherhood and resolve – and always take care of the franchise, characters & FANS that we love.”

In the video, the actor also highlighted the popularity of Fast X, the most recent film in the franchise, which debuted on May 19, 2023. He added that the response from the audience to the end credits scene ‘have blown us away’. He continued, “The next Fast & Furious film you’ll see the legendary lawman in will be the HOBBS movie that will serve as a fresh, new chapter & set up for FASTX: Part II.”
