The Mandalorian & Grogu: Star Wars movie official release date confirmed
The final step court date for their movie has been set, as excitement for Din Djarin’s journey and the significant Grogu television series premiere date keeps on rising.
Disney and Lucasfilm have scheduled May 22, 2026, for the big-screen show of “The Mandalorian & Grogu,” a movie that is a sequel to the popular and highly acclaimed television series “The Mandalorian.”
The Hollywood Reporter was the first to report this update, which comes after the first unveiling in January 2024 and confirms prior rumours that suggested a 2026 release. With series creator Jon Favreau directing, the movie aims to expand on the narrative created by the show. Favreau will also collaborate on writing alongside Lucasfilm’s Chief Creative Officer, Dave Filoni. The duo’s partnership includes production duties with Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy.
Although the movie will continue the tradition of its namesake titular fighting action, the abstract story is yet unknown. The most eagerly awaited part of The Mandalorian is Pedro Pascal’s return to the title role. If the plot requires that Djarin reveal his identity, he will likely provide his voice and potentially even appear on screen. Brendan Wayne, Pascal’s body double, and Pascal are playing half-Klingon, half-Terran, and both have stated they will be returning for the film.
