Along with her, Dominic Sessa gives the cast more dimension as Angus, a smart and rebellious troublemaker who hides his good nature behind his cheeky persona. When his recently bereaved, well-off mother informs Angus that he must stay at the school while she leaves on her honeymoon, Angus is devastated.

Paul Giamatti plays a hateful history teacher who works at a prominent New England prep school in the 1970s drama The Holdovers. He is isolated and unloved because of his terrible personality, which is disliked with both students and colleagues. Unexpectedly, the school administration chooses to retain him on campus throughout the holiday break to care for the students who are unable to travel home. The history teacher’s lack of social abilities also interferes with his personal life, as he has no exciting plans of his own for the holidays.
