The Chosen One: Plot
Naturally, as is the case with all comic book adaptations, maintaining some degree of faithfulness to the source material is essential to maintaining the fan base. With this in mind, many have made assumptions about how closely The Chosen One’s plot may follow the original. According to the official Netflix synopsis:
“Jodie, a twelve-year-old boy in Baja California, suddenly discovers he has Jesus-like powers: he can turn water into wine, make the crippled walk, and, perhaps, even raise the dead! As the Evangelical and the Yaquí leaders in town try to get him to use his powers to save mankind, all Jodie wants to do is impress the girl he likes and stand up to his bullies. As Jodie struggles and eventually comes to terms with his destiny, everything gets thrown for a loop when he discovers the truth around his identity.”
The Chosen One: Release Date
Fans of Mark Millar’s work will probably be counting down the days until the release of The Chosen One as anticipation is stronger than ever. For those who may not already be aware, a formal statement on the series’ August 16, 2023 release date was issued in May. A first-look poster was also unveiled alongside the official tweet, which undoubtedly increased the sense of anticipation among the fan base.
