Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department breaks most-streamed album record on Spotify
Taylor Swift has a track record of breaking records, and her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, is no different. Just hours after the Grammy-winning singer released the album, Spotify announced on Friday that Tortured Poets had become the music streaming giant’s most-streamed album in a single day. She also broke Spotify’s record for the most streams in a single day.
Fans of the singer of “Cruel Summer” won’t be shocked by her most recent releases, as the audio streamer revealed on Thursday that the album became the most pre-saved album Countdown Page in Spotify history before it was even released.
Swift’s most recent album, which has 16 songs and collaborations with Florence + The Machine and Post Malone, takes fans through the stages of grief and heartbreak. The singer-songwriter also stunned fans with an expansion of Tortured Poets, titled The Anthology, which features 15 more tracks, after it was released at midnight on Friday.
Talking about other music-streaming platforms, Tortured Poets became the most-streamed album in Amazon Music history on its first day. The album also set a new record for the most streams of any pop album on Apple Music on its first day.
