South Korean survival drama television series Squid Game (Korean: ) was developed by Hwang Dong-hyuk for Netflix. For those who are unfamiliar, Squid Game is a high-stakes game in which 456 players struggle to survive. These games are exaggerated versions of the traditional Korean children’s games, where players risk their lives in order to win huge prize money. Things are bound to get ugly and relationships are bound to fall apart because only one winner out of 456 will receive the prize. The first two episodes of Squid Game were written over the course of six months by the show’s creator, Emmy winner Hwang Dong-hyuk.
