Months after Ryu Jun Yeol and Han So Hee parted ways amid the dating drama, the actor has finally broken his silence. The Reply 1988 star was previously engaged in a ‘transit love’ controversy, with many speculating that his separation from Hyeri was due to his relationship with Han So Hee. Ryu Jun Yeol addressed the controversies surrounding his relationships during a press conference for Netflix’s new series The 8 Show on May 10.
On May 10, more than two months after the dating scandal forced Han So Hee and Ryu Jun Yeol to lose multiple projects, the actor finally addressed the matter. He said, “I felt it was best to remain silent and endure the criticism rather than attempting to correct the misinformation about my personal life spread on social media.”
The K-drama actor also stated that he is well aware of other issues, including one relating to a golf event, “It was an opportunity for me to self-reflect and the most difficult time since my debut. As it’s a personal issue, I think there will be a time I can give an interview in a personal setting.”
After a few days, fans were abuzz, trying to figure out what he meant until he finally clarified the matter. Some speculated that it was only a PR tactic to win back fans’ love so that his new show wouldn’t have to bear the weight of the criticism.
