Fans of Real Housewives of Potomac (RHOP) were surprised to learn that Robyn Dixon, one of the original cast members of the show, was departing. Dixon revealed that she will not be returning for Season 9 of the beloved Bravo series on her podcast, Reasonably Shady. Looking back on her time throughout eight seasons, Dixon disclosed the reasons for her decision to leave the program.

Robyn Dixon said that her time on RHOP is over in a candid statement on her podcast, Reasonably Shady. She disclosed that her time on the show came to an end when the network did not extend an invitation for the next season. Dixon stated that she was essentially fired from the series and said that she understood the situation.

She said, “Yes, I will not be returning for season 9 of The Real Housewives of Potomac. It’s reality. The network did not invite me back. I was fired, for lack of better words. I will not sugar-coat the situation and say, ‘Ooh I am walking away and this is a break’ or anything like this. This is a network decision.”

Dixon was a part of the original cast when RHOP debuted in 2016, thus her departure marks the end of an era for the television series.

Dixon expressed her optimism about her future opportunities in her farewell message and praised her longtime friend and RHOP co-star Gizelle Bryant for her constant support and companionship. “As I embark on a new chapter after six remarkable years with The Real Housewives of Potomac, I am filled with gratitude for the enriching friendships, personal growth and moments of introspection that have defined this journey. With a whirlwind of new opportunities and responsibilities on my plate, I have decided to take a break from RHOP.”
