American psychological thriller Ratched is a streaming television series that was conceived by Ryan Murphy and Evan Romansky. Sarah Paulson plays Nurse Mildred Ratched in the series’ main character. A preface to Miloš Forman’s 1975 film One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (which itself was based on Ken Kesey’s 1962 novel of the same name), it shows Mildred Ratched’s life before the events seen in the movie, but in California instead of Oregon. The two-season series order was given to Ratched. Netflix released the first season on September 18, 2020. In August 2022, Sarah Paulson told Variety that she wasn’t sure if the second season was still in development.

Ratched Season 2: Cast

Ratched Season 2: Plot
Ultimately, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest is Ratched’s goal. This implies that the purpose of season 2 would be to reveal the events leading up to Ratched’s final loss of humanity.
At the end of the first season, Nurse Ratched and Briggs (who had been miraculously healed of cancer) had escaped to Mexico together, leaving Nurse Bucket to take over Lucia State; it was less American Horror Story and more Thelma and Louise.
However, we are fully aware that this joyful ending is short lived. As a prequel series, not only is Ratched’s brother Edmund on the run and preparing to kill her, but we also know how Ratched’s narrative ends. We believe that Edmund, Louise, and Charlotte will play a role in her demise.
Ratched Season 2: Release Date
If Ratched ever comes back, it would be at least in 2025. It’s unlikely to happen because there hasn’t been any movement on season 2.
