Judi Dench, an Oscar-winning actress who has charmed audiences all over the world with her acting talent for over 60 years, has hinted about retiring owing to an ongoing health condition.

Judi has had successful careers both on stage and on screen. In her most recent interview, she suggested her film career might be coming to an end.

She was questioned about her other film projects in the works when attending the Chelsea Flower Show in London this week. She replied to The Mirror, “No, no. “I can’t even see.”

When pushed for more comment on Judi’s remarks, her representative interfered and stated that she had nothing else to say. The Oscar winner last starred in the 2022 film Spirited.

Judi, 89, suffers from macular degeneration in her eyes, which can result in permanent and fast central vision loss.

During a February 2023 interview on The Graham Norton Show, Judi stated that as her vision deteriorates, she finds it more difficult to remember lines because she has a photographic memory.

“I need to find a machine that not only teaches me my lines but also tells me where they appear on the page,” the Philomena star stated. “I used to find it very easy to learn lines and remember them. I could do the whole of Twelfth Night right now.”
