NewJeans Members File Court Petition Supporting Min Hee-jin Amid HYBE v ADOR Conflict
All five members of NewJeans, Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein, have filed a court petition in favour of Min Hee Jin, as per reports. The ‘controversial’ CEO, who manages Billboard-performing artists, is presently battling with HYBE Labels, ADOR’s parent company. The petition letter presented to the Seoul Central District Court is alleged to be in support of Min Hee Jin, but specific details have yet to be revealed.
Previously, only NewJeans members’ parents openly backed Min Hee Jin against HYBE’s CEO, Bang Si Hyuk, charging him of alleged exploitation and mistreatment towards NewJeans. The email stating the incident also noted instances of blatant plagiarism and ongoing attempts to undermine the group. According to Yonhap, court papers from the May 17 hearing contained petition letters presented by Danielle Marsh, Kim Minji, Hanni Pham, Kang Haerin and Lee Hyein.
Since the beginning of Hybe and ADOR’s authority battle, this is the first time the rising K-pop girl group has taken a side. It was previously reported that the group members’ parents also filed a court petition in support of Min Hee Jin.
Meanwhile, HYBE has to provide evidence to back up the charges against Min Hee Jin that would permit her termination as CEO in order to prevent the civil court from taking away their voting privileges at the next ADOR shareholder meeting, which is scheduled for May 31, KST.
