Morgan Wallen’s Felony Chair-Throwing Charges Move Ahead as Nashville Judge Sets New Hearing Date

Country music star Morgan Wallen faces charges of throwing a chair from a six-story bar’s rooftop and almost hitting two police officers. On Friday, his initial hearing was rescheduled till August.

Worrick Robinson, Wallen’s lawyer, informed reporters that the case is “very complicated” and assured them that Wallen, who had waived his right to be there Friday, would show up for the rescheduled hearing on August 15.

“I think everybody generally wins if you can resolve it in a manner that everybody can live with,” Robinson stated.

The singer faces three felony counts of reckless endangerment and one misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct.

As per the arrest affidavit, the chair that Wallen is accused of throwing from the top of Chief’s bar on April 7 fell approximately a yard away from the cops, who spoke to witnesses and reviewed security footage. Witnesses informed officers that Wallen picked up a chair, threw it off the roof and laughed about it.

Wallen released a statement in which he said he accepted “responsibility” and was “not proud” of his actions, but Robinson declined to clarify whether or not he believed Wallen threw the chair.  The statement did not contain an apology but did mention making “amends” and touching base with law enforcement.
