Massiel Taveras addresses Cannes red carpet incident, praises “Queen” Kelly Rowland

This year’s Cannes red carpet remained an eye-catching spectacle, due to the star-studded affair, despite a few challenges for a few red carpet walkers. Just days after a video surfaced showing singer Kelly Rowland in a heated argument with a security guard for allegedly rushing her through pictures, Dominican actress Massiel Taveras found herself in a similar situation.

Following this incident, a couple of other videos appeared, including one with K-pop idol YoonA, who was in the same position. Though she did not speak up like the other two, she was clearly unhappy with the treatment. Taveras is now speaking up, demanding respect and echoing Rowland’s sentiments.

Here’s what happened 

The star of “The Other Penelope” was seen on camera punching a security guard on the red carpet who was trying to rush her inside the building as she wanted to unfold her dress’s long train, which featured Christ’s face. Massiel, irritated by the constant rushing and groping, was seen taking it out on the same security guard engaged in Kelly Rowland’s incident.

“Queen,” Taveras wrote an Instagram post including an article on Kelly Rowland. “[We need] respect.” She added another post. “The woman knows what happened; I know what happened.”
