‘Lost’ star heads the cast of new Amazon Prime show ‘The Pradeeps of Pittsburgh’

The new Amazon Prime series The Pradeeps of Pittsburgh is now streaming, offering viewers a heartfelt and humorous look at the life of an Indian-American family navigating their new life in the U.S. Inspired by the real-life experiences of Vijal Patel, an executive producer for Black-ish, the show focuses on themes of family, immigration, and cultural identity while maintaining a lighthearted tone.

Patel expressed his excitement about finally bringing this project to life, emphasizing his desire to create a comedy that resonates with audiences while sharing the unique story of Indian-American immigrants. Meet the Pradeep Family

The series revolves around the Pradeep family, composed of five main characters played by a talented cast:

• Naveen Andrews as Mahesh Pradeep: Best known for his role as Sayid on Lost, Andrews portrays the optimistic patriarch of the Pradeep family. He described Mahesh as a character filled with positivity and love, unlike any role he has played before.
• Sindhu Vee as Sudha Pradeep: A British stand-up comedian, Vee brings a modern take to her character, a straightforward mom who balances traditional values with contemporary parenting. Vee’s previous acting experience includes a role in Sex Education.
• Sahana Srinivasan as Bhanu Pradeep: An actor and comedian from Texas, Srinivasan has appeared in Insecure and Fear the Walking Dead. She shared that the cast bonded during filming, often spending time together off-set, which helped build their on-screen chemistry.
• Arjun Sriram as Kamal Pradeep: New to acting, Sriram’s role in The Pradeeps of Pittsburgh marks his sixth credit.
• Ashwin Sakthivel as Vinod Pradeep: Having started acting at a young age, Sakthivel has voiced characters in children’s programming, adding to the youthful energy of the Pradeep family.
