Kid Cudi departed the 2024 Coachella festival with the least wanted concert memory: a broken foot. The “Day ‘N’ Nite” rapper, who was a late addition to this year’s Coachella lineup, had to cancel his April 21 performance after jumping from the platform and landing with his foot crashing onto the ground below.

A viral video of Cudi’s accident showed him lying on the ground, wincing in pain.

In a message posted on X later that evening, Cudi informed his fans, “Hey guys, so I broke my foot today at the show. Just leavin the hospital. Never broken a bone before so this is all a bit crazy. I wanna thank u all for ur concerns and well wishes!! I love yall man. I heard yall still ragin when I was offstage. Made me smile big.”

The next day, the hip-hop star, whose real name is Scott Mescudi, shared a selfie video on the platform.

In his video, Cudi makes fun of himself, stating that his actions were “what happens when a 40-year-old man tries to prance around off stage like he’s 26.” He added that his accident taught him a “valuable lesson” about not “jumping off stages.”

Cudi expects to be “healed up” in time for his next “Insano: Engage the Rage” global tour, which begins June 28 in Austin, Texas. “I don’t want to let you guys down,” he said, adding that he hasn’t cancelled any performance dates yet.

“I’m OK,” he said, smiling. “A little sore. Yesterday was a lot of pain. But I’m doing better now.” “I love y’all. All day. Engage the rage. But not at 40,” he added, blowing viewers a kiss.
