Kelly Osbourne’s weight loss, explored

Kelly Osbourne has been known for her bold and ever-evolving style, making waves with her constantly changing hair colors and unique fashion sense. She’s never afraid to stand out, embracing looks that set her apart. Throughout the years, Kelly’s look has mirrored her journey, as she’s faced both physical and personal transformations.

Kelly has also experienced various changes in her weight, speaking openly about her path to body positivity and self-acceptance. As the daughter of iconic Black Sabbath rocker Ozzy Osbourne and TV personality Sharon Osbourne, Kelly first gained fame on the MTV reality show *The Osbournes* (2002–2005). Just 17 at the time, she quickly became known for her edgy personality. Growing up in the public eye, she knew the challenges of fame, but the scrutiny of her appearance was especially hard. Reading headlines about her weight affected her self-esteem, and over time, the harsh comments weighed on her. Reflecting on her experience during an interview on *Red Table Talk* with Jada Pinkett-Smith, Kelly shared how she battled negative self-talk, hearing voices in her head saying, “You’re fat, you’re ugly, you’re not good enough,” and that people only liked her because of her famous family.

In the same interview, Kelly revealed her struggle with addiction, which began at the young age of 13 after she was prescribed Vicodin following surgery. Unfortunately, her dependence grew, leading her to experiment with other substances, like Percocet and even heroin. When she finally overcame her addiction, she found herself turning to food for comfort and experienced a significant weight gain. “I’m an emotional eater,” she admitted.

On *The Osbournes Podcast*, Kelly spoke about a tough moment when a film executive labeled her as “too fat” for the industry. In 2003, she was cast as Lindsay Lohan’s best friend in *Freaky Friday*, but a film executive told her, “You’re not a movie star, but you could be one if you lost weight.” Ultimately, she had to drop out of the movie to support her mother through a cancer diagnosis.

By 2018, Kelly decided to take a step for her health and underwent gastric sleeve surgery, where part of the stomach is removed to help reduce appetite and portion size. She was clear that this surgery wasn’t a magic solution; it gave her a head start but also required a new lifestyle. “If you don’t work out and eat right, you gain weight,” she said, noting that the surgery just helped steer her in the right direction.

More recently, during her pregnancy, Kelly stepped away from social media, choosing not to share much to avoid negative comments. She later joked that she felt she looked like “a f***ing moose” and preferred to stay out of the public eye. After giving birth to her son in 2022, she worked hard to lose the baby weight, admitting she may have overdone it.

In an interview with *Us Magazine*, Kelly opened up about her lifestyle today. She doesn’t follow a strict diet or intense workout plan but focuses on walking and making healthy food choices when she can. However, she doesn’t deprive herself, still enjoying treats like cookies and chocolate. “Sometimes I don’t make the healthy choice. But if I fall off, I get right back on,” she shared, adding that she now has a stronger sense of self and feels proud of her journey.
