K-pop singer Park Bo Ram popular for Reply 1988 song, passes away at 30
In an unfortunate turn of events, Korean singer Park Bo Ram died at the age of 30. Famous for her popular original soundtracks for K-dramas and her part in SuperStar K2, many South Korean media outlets announced her demise yesterday. This tragic news was later confirmed by her agency, XANADU, in a short statement.
Renowned for her beautiful voice and classic hits like Reply 1988’s Hyehwadong (Or Ssangmundong) and W – Two Worlds’ Please Say Something, Even Though It Is a Lie, she passed away while she was getting ready to make a comeback to mark her debut’s 10th anniversary.
“It’s true that Park Bo Ram died on April 11,” XANADU shared in a brief statement. “The cause of death is currently being investigated by the police.” It added.
In a follow-up statement, XANADU expressed deep sadness at the death, stating, “All of the artists and executives at XANADU Entertainment are deeply mourning the deceased with great sadness.”
Details about the funeral were also shared, with the statement, “It is even more heartbreaking that we have to inform all of the fans who support Park Bo Ram of this sudden news. The funeral will be held after consulting with the bereaved family.”
