Joey King recently had a heartwarming reunion with her best friend of ten years, Sabrina Carpenter, at one of Carpenter’s concerts, and their interaction quickly charmed their fans. The Family Affair star, 25, shared her excitement on Instagram after attending Carpenter’s show in Chicago on Monday, October 14. In the post, King gushed, “I got to see my wife perform in Chi Town last night and I cried, of course.”
King, also 25, couldn’t resist adding some humor, calling Carpenter “the shortest and sweetest pop star I’ve ever seen” and playfully referenced Carpenter’s album Short ‘n Sweet and song Juno by saying, “I might let her make me Juno.”
The post included a fun video of King dancing in the crowd as Carpenter performed hits like Please, Please, Please and Good Graces. King also shared backstage photos with Carpenter and her four nieces, all while dressed in a pink mini skirt, baseball cap, and a shirt that read “Camaraderie,” a nod to Carpenter’s song Bed Chem.
King kept the love going in her Instagram Stories, posting a sweet picture of the two hugging with the caption, “I love you, my Brina. Perfect girl. Perfect show. Feel so lucky to watch you shine.”
This wasn’t King’s first time supporting her bestie on tour. Back in June, she saw Carpenter perform at the Governor’s Ball music festival. Speaking to People at the time, King revealed it had been a few years since she’d been able to catch a concert due to their busy schedules. She raved about Carpenter’s music, saying she was “obsessed” with Please, Please, Please, even joking about how addictive it was, claiming it made her watch the music video six times at 2:00 a.m.
Since Carpenter’s album dropped in August, King has been torn about which of the 12 tracks is her favorite. Carpenter’s tour continues with her next stop in Nashville on October 16, followed by performances in St. Louis and Raleigh later in the week.
