Jeffrey Wright to Reprise His The Last of Us Part II Role for Season 2 of HBO Show

Jeffrey Wright, a Hollywood veteran, is set to repeat his role in The Last of Us Part II for the HBO series’ second season.

Wright is returning to HBO for The Last of US Season 2, playing Isaac, the same role he played in the post-apocalyptic Naughty Dog title.

HBO described Isaac from the video game as “the quietly powerful leader of a large militia group who sought liberty but instead has become mired in an endless war against a surprisingly resourceful enemy,” while avoiding significant game spoilers.

The actor joins returning leads Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, who have received praise for their performances as Joel and Ellie, respectively. Gabriel Luna and Rutina Wesley join the cast, having previously made an impression in the show’s first season.

When asked if he would play the same part in the HBO adaption earlier this year, Writ said, “Anything is possible. We shall see.”

Kaitlyn Dever plays the role of Abby, and Isabela Merced plays the role of Dina. With Ariela Barer as Mel, Tati Gabrielle as Nora, Spencer Lord as Owen, and Danny Ramirez as Manny, Young Mazino will play Jesse.

There will be a surprise appearance by the renowned Catherine O’Hara in a yet-to-be-revealed role.
