Since its premiere in September 2017, the prequel to The Big Bang Theory, created by Chuck Lorre (Mom) and Steven Molaro, has received a lot of great feedback from fans. The hugely successful show, however, has had lower ratings than in previous seasons.
Season 3 had a lower average rating in the 18-49 age category of 1.05 and an average of 8.71 million viewers per episode than season 2, which had a rating of 1.71 and an average of 11.14 million viewers. Seasons 2 and 3 are both less successful than season 1, which had an average episode rating of 2.21 and 12.51 million viewers. Despite this, Young Sheldon remains CBS’s top scripted show.

Despite the show’s creators have not officially affirmed that the show will be ending, there has been some speculation. After the announcement of the 7th season of Young Sheldon, it appears that the release date will be announced soon. Season 7 of Young Sheldon will premiere at the end of 2023, as per schedule.
