We’re all big fans of Netflix’s teen romance. We loved To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before and can’t wait for a spin-off, especially one centred on Lara Jean’s younger sister, Kitty Song Covey. Let’s be honest, she’s already a bit of a celebrity. Here’s everything we know about Netflix’s TATBILB spin-off series, XO, Kitty.
XO, Kitty Potential Release Date
As the final part of the trilogy had a successful run when it was released in 2021, it was announced a month later in March that a series spin-off to To All the Boys is in development, with each episode being a half-hour romantic comedy. Netflix officially approved the spin-off series in October, making it the first live-action series based on a Netflix original film. The release date of the series was affirmed 2 years later, in the same month, when it was revealed that all 10 episodes of XO, Kitty will be released together on May 18, 2023.
XO Kitty Expected Cast
Anna Cathcart will repeat her role as Kitty. Dae will be played by South Korean actor Minyeong Choi, well known for his performance in the Kdrama Twenty-Five Twenty-One. Gia Kim plays Yuri, Sang Heon Lee plays Minho, Anthony Keyvan plays Q, Peter Thurnwald plays Alex, Jocelyn Shelfo plays Madison, Regan Aliyah plays Juliana and Yunjin Kim plays Jina. Professor Lee is portrayed by Michael K Lee.
XO Kitty Potential Plot
According to the official synopsis of the series, “Teen matchmaker Kitty Song Covey thinks she knows everything there is to know about love. But when she moves halfway across the world to reunite with her long-distance boyfriend, she’ll soon realize that relationships are a lot more complicated when it’s your own heart on the line.”
Jenny Han is the writer of the books that inspired the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before series. She will be co-showrunner and executive producer on XO, Kitty, along with Sascha Rothchild
