Hungry dog chows down on dangerous poison, and now she has a big problem
Some dogs are like walking trash cans—they’ll eat practically anything, even things that could seriously harm them. That’s exactly what happened with TikToker Jahyda Dixon’s dog, who ended up snacking on something incredibly dangerous.
In a now-viral, ten-second TikTok clip with 22 million views, Jahyda’s poor pup is seen looking pretty miserable in a vet’s office. The video, accompanied by the popular “yep, that’s me” audio, has captured viewers’ attention for one key reason: the dog’s neon green vomit, which looks more like toxic sludge than something you’d ever want to see on your floor. With 2 million likes and thousands of comments, this video has taken the internet by storm.
Many viewers wondered if the dog had gotten into some neon green slime or something similar. Others joked that maybe the dog had somehow found some Ozempic, the popular diabetes medication that’s also used for weight loss. But Jahyda later revealed the truth in a follow-up story time: while she was out running errands (for her dogs, no less), her adventurous pups managed to escape their cage and discovered a bag of rat poison.
Thankfully, Jahyda acted fast and got her dogs to the vet, where only one had ingested the poison. According to Fruitvillevet.com, pet poisonings are more common than people think, with over 400,000 cases reported in 2021 alone. About 7% of these incidents sadly result in the pet’s passing, so these situations can be very serious.
Luckily, after a stomach-pumping procedure, Jahyda’s dog made it through okay. As she reassured viewers, her dogs are well-fed and well-cared for, but their curiosity got the best of them this time. Let’s hope this experience was enough to keep them away from dangerous “snacks” in the future!
