Harry Styles’ Stalker Who Bombarded Him With 8000 Cards Faces Jail Term of 14 Weeks
Harry Styles’ stalker has been jailed and is not allowed to attend any of his performances. Myra Carvalho, 35, sent the singer 8,000 cards in less than a month, Harrow Crown Court told. She pleaded guilty to the stalking charge on Tuesday and was given a 14-week jail term.
Carvalho was also given a ten-year restraining order and warned she was not allowed to go to any events where Styles was performing.
Carvalho, a Brazilian national, sent handwritten letters to the 30-year-old singers while in the UK and ordered a series of cards for him online, which were delivered to his house, the court previously heard.
Prosecutors had stated that two of the 8,000 letters were personally delivered to Mr. Styles’ residence and that some of the cards were wedding cards.
According to court documents, Carvalho arrived in the UK in December and was staying in a backpacking hostel in Earl’s Court, west London. The court was informed that her family were unaware that she had travelled to the country.
She was also told not to contact Styles, either directly or indirectly, and not to go to an area of north-west London, according to a court official.
Furthermore, she has to pay a £134 victim surcharge.
