Citadel is an American spy action thriller television series produced for Amazon Prime Video by Josh Appelbaum, Bryan Oh, and David Weil, with the Russo brothers serving as executive producers. It stars Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra Jonas as Citadel agents Mason Kane and Nadia Sinh, respectively, along with Stanley Tucci and Lesley Manville.
Citadel will have language-specific spin-off series based in locations including Mexico, India, Spain, and the Italian Alps. Raj & DK will helm the Indian television series, which features Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Varun Dhawan. Cattleya, a division of ITV Studios, will release Citadel: Diana, an Italian television series, in 2024.
The six-episode inaugural season of the show had a $300 million production budget, making it one of the priciest television programs. The first season’s first two episodes aired on April 28, 2023. It was given a second season renewal in March 2023, and Joe Russo was confirmed to helm every episode of the forthcoming season.
