Chris Pratt’s stunt double Tony McFarr passes away, actor mourns the demise
Tony McFarr, a well-known Hollywood stunt double who was best known for his work with Chris Pratt, died at the age of 47.
His mother confirmed to TMZ that he passed away on Monday, and the Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home in Florida also reported the tragic news. Although Tony’s official cause of death is still unknown, his mother reportedly described his demise as “unexpected and shocking.”
McFarr worked as a stunt double for more than ten years.
He rose to prominence as Chris Pratt’s stunt double in the 2015 movie ‘Jurassic World’ and then became his body double in blockbusters such as Marvel’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’, ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ and ‘Passengers’.
Following the stuntman’s death, Pratt took to his Instagram story to post a pen a heartfelt note to McFarr. Pratt shared several photographs from the sets and wrote, “Devastated to hear about the loss of my friend and former stunt double Tony McFarr. We did several movies together.”
“We golfed, drank whiskey, smoked cigars, and spent endless hours on set. He was an absolute stud. He was always a gentleman and professional,” the actor wrote and concluded, “He’ll be missed. My prayers go out to his friends and family, especially his daughter.”
