Chris Hemsworth is in talks to feature in the upcoming crossover franchise movies, following his stellar performance as Marvel’s Thor and the antagonist Dementus in George Miller’s Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hemsworth is in talks to feature in Paramount and Hasbro Entertainment’s unnamed crossover including the G.I. Joe and Transformers franchises.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts from last year teased a Transformers and G.I. Joe crossover, which Paramount officially revealed at CinemaCon this year. Chris Hemsworth is returning to the Transformers franchise as a voice actor in the forthcoming animated feature Transformers One, which releases in theatres on September 20.

In the upcoming film, Anthony Ramos’s character Noah Diaz accepts a job offer from the Joes, continuing the story from Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. Although the filmmakers knew it would take some wrangling to pull off, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura encouraged director Steven Caple Jr. to alter the script’s ending.

The two well-known ’80s franchises have already crossed over in Marvel comics, but this would be their first big-screen appearance. Di Bonaventura, Mark Vahradian, Michael Bay, Tom DeSanto, and Don Murphy will produce the crossover. Executive producers will be Hasbro Entertainment and Steven Spielberg.
