The makers of the superhero action series “Gen V” have stated that they would not recast Chance Perdomo’s role following his death, claiming that no one can replace the actor who died in March.

At the age of 27, Perdomo, who portrayed Andre Anderson in the spin-off series “The Boys” on Prime Video, passed away in a motorbike accident. In the episode, Andre is a well-liked Godolkin University student who can manipulate things magnetically.

The statement was released on Sunday through a social media post by the “Gen V” makers. “As we continue to navigate the tragic loss of Chance Perdomo, everyone at Gen V is determined to find the best way to pay respect to his memory. We won’t be recasting the role, because no one can replace Chance,” they said.

The second season’s plot, which is scheduled to begin filming this month, is being rewritten to include Perdomo’s death. The statement further reads, “Instead, we have been taking the time and space to recraft our season 2 storylines as we begin production in May,” the “Gen V.”

The actor made his television debut in 2017 with a recurring role in the third season of the CBBC adaptation of “Hetty Feather” and received a British Academy Television Award nomination the following year for his portrayal in the BBC Three film “Killed by My Debt”.
