CBS Cancels Two Dramas, Including So Help Me Todd
Two of CBS’s dramas, ‘So Help Me Todd’ and ‘CSI: Vegas,’ have been cancelled. According to The Hollywood Reporter, these episodes, which were originally scheduled to air as season finales in May, will now serve as the program’s last curtain call.
While ‘CSI: Vegas’ started its third season and ‘So Help Me Todd’ entered its second, the network decided to cancel both shows.
Many were surprised by the update of the cancellation despite the show’s good viewership figures, with an average of 7.7 million and 7.6 million viewers, respectively.
As per The Hollywood Reporter, CBS cited schedule constraints as the major reason for cancelling the series, leaving no hope for a return next season.
As fans bid adieu to these programs, CBS plans to introduce new content.
The forthcoming releases include a reboot of ‘Matlock’ featuring Kathy Bates and the comedy venture ‘Poppa’s House’ featuring Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr. Furthermore, the network has approved new shows including ‘Watson,’ ‘NCIS: Origins,’ and a ‘Young Sheldon’ spinoff.
‘So Help Me Todd’ aired in 2022 and starred Marcia Gay Harden as a defence attorney and Skylar Astin as her son and investigator. On the other hand, ‘CSI: Vegas’ revived the iconic franchise, with a cast lead by Paula Newsome and Matt Lauria, as well as cameos by original stars William Petersen and Jorja Fox.
