Billie Eilish says her upcoming album won’t have singles
A new Billie Eilish era has begun, as she announced the title and release date of her third album. Eilish’s forthcoming album Hit Me Hard and Soft, which will be released on May 17, takes a different approach than her past releases. There won’t be any singles this time. As she stated on Instagram, the Grammy-winning singer would rather “give it to you all at once.”
“Finneas and I truly could not be more proud of this album, and we absolutely can’t wait for you to hear it,” the singer said in the social media post.
After criticizing artists for their wasteful vinyl variants, Eilish has committed to going green for this album, releasing limited physical copies on the same day with the same track listing. The Hit Me Hard and Soft vinyl, like her previous album Happier Than Ever, will be made completely of recyclable materials.
The news came out after Eilish hinted at the arrival of her new album on Instagram last week. She added followers to her list of close friends and gave a sneak peek at the album’s title and artwork.
During her appearance on The Cookout in September 2023, the 22-year-old revealed that she was working on an album. “There is a whole album of music coming,” Billie stated at the time. “We’re in the final stages of making it, so that doesn’t mean it’s about to come out, but it is getting there and it’s very exciting.”
