The upcoming American superhero film Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is based on the DC Comics character Aquaman. It is supposed to be the sequel to Aquaman (2018), as well as the 15th and final movie in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU), and is being produced by DC Studios, the Safran Company, and Atomic Monster, and will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. James Wan directs the picture, which is based on a script written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom: Plot

Wan said, “The second one is a little bit more serious, a little more relevant to the world we’re living in today,” at the DC FanDome panel in August 2020. It wants to go in that direction.

Fans who love the film for its corny joy were unnerved by hints of an altered tone, but Wan’s insistence that the writing and premise be perfect before moving forward should encourage unwavering trust. Wan provided a little additional insight into the decision to take a darker direction for the sequel in an interview from August 2021.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom: Release Date

The movie’s March 17, 2023 release date was moved up from its original December 16, 2022 date. The movie was again delayed to December 25, 2023, before being moved ahead a couple of days to its present release date.
