An forthcoming American superhero movie called Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is based on the DC comic book character Aquaman. The film is the follow-up to Aquaman (2018) and the fifteenth and last entry in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU), produced by DC Studios, Atomic Monster, and The Safran Company, with distribution handled by Warner Bros. Pictures. James Wan is the film’s director, working from a screenplay by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick. Wan, Johnson-McGoldrick, Jason Momoa, and Thomas Pa’a Sibbett all contributed to the story’s conception. Momoa plays Arthur Curry/Aquaman in the film, starring with Patrick Wilson, Nicole Kidman, Amber Heard, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.

- Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry / Aquaman: The half-Atlantean/half-human king of Atlantis who can swim at supersonic speeds and summon and command the aquatic life.
- Patrick Wilson as Orm Marius: Arthur’s Atlantean half-brother and the former king of Atlantis who is imprisoned following his crimes against Atlantis.
- Amber Heard as Mera: The Queen of Atlantis, wife of Arthur, mother of Arthur Jr and daughter of King Nereus who can control water.
- Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as David Kane / Black Manta: A ruthless pirate and high-seas mercenary who uses an Atlantean armored suit and wields the powerful Black Trident, seeking to kill Arthur as revenge for the death of his father.
Moreover, Dolph Lundgren, who plays Nereus, the father of Xebel and Mera, Randall Park, who plays Dr. Stephen Shin, a marine researcher fixated on discovering Atlantis, and Temuera Morrison, who plays Arthur’s father and a lighthouse keeper, are reprising their roles from Aquaman (2018). Vincent Regan as the first king of Atlantis, Atlan; Jani Zhao as Stingray; Indya Moore as Karshon; and Pilou Asbaek in an unspecified capacity are also present.

According to the reports, “Several years after the events of the first film, Arthur Curry / Aquaman is forced to protect Atlantis and his loved ones from devastation after an ancient power is unleashed by David Kane / Black Manta obtaining the cursed Black Trident. In order to achieve this, he will have to seek help from an unlikely ally, his brother Orm.”
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom: Release Date
The current release date for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is December 22, 2023. The original release date of the film was December 20, 2023, two days earlier. The animated feature Migration, the Glen Powell-Sydney Sweeney romantic comedy Anyone But You, and the biographical The Iron Claw are the films that the movie is now debuting against. This isn’t the first time the movie has been delayed; on December 16, 2022, it was supposed to be released, but it was moved to March 17, 2023. The movie was originally scheduled for December 25, 2023, however it was later moved ahead a few days and then moved forward by two days.
