Anya Taylor-Joy, who will soon see in Mad Max: Furiosa, recently revealed on social media that she ‘secretly married’ her partner and musician, Malcolm McRae. The actress announced on Instagram while posting pictures that they were married two years ago.
Sharing the pics, she penned, “Two years ago, on April Fools, I secretly married my best friend in New Orleans. The magic of that day is ingrained in every cell of my being, forever. Happy second (first) anniversary my love, you’re the coolest.”
Actress and model Cara Delevingne attended the wedding as well, she was spotted wearing a white pantsuit. The ceremony took place in New Orleans.
The 27-year-old actor reportedly got to know McRae during the 2021 premiere of The Queen’s Gambit. McRae reportedly penned a song about Taylor-Joy two days after first seeing her in person.
A year later, the two made their relationship official after attending an Oscars party.
However, it was eventually revealed, according to Page Six, that McRae and Taylor-Joy were married in July 2022 and had a “starry” wedding a year later. Her post was also a part of an elaborate April Fool’s joke.
Meanwhile, Taylor-Joy is now anticipating the release of her next film, “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga,” which will make its world premiere at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival. The film, which also stars Tom Burke and Chris Hemsworth, will be released in May of this year.
