The Cannes Film Festival got off to a chaotic start on Tuesday when a video of actress Anya Taylor-Joy and an aggressive fan went viral. The video from the event shows the actress making an appearance on Day 1 when a fan chased her in an unpleasant manner as she made her way to her car.

The man was spotted asking the actress for her autograph while holding out a pen and a book. He was seen running up to her and requesting an autograph.

To protect the actress from any potential physical attack, Anya’s alert bodyguard intervened. The man was seen being grabbed by the bodyguard and pushed aside after he refused to back away.

During the chaos, the actress’s huge sun hat slipped off her head. She was helped to her car, where she went into the back seat and closed the door, denying other fans the opportunity for a selfie or autograph.
