aespa, a K-pop girl group, will make a comeback with the album Armageddon. Aespa is known as the powerhouse of K-pop, and their voices have helped them rise to international legend status. The girls most recently appeared at an album presentation and were questioned by a group of reporters. The reporters didn’t spare words while questioning them about statements made by HYBE chairman Bang Si Hyuk during a leaked conversation with ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin. Winter and Karina’s reactions went viral.
The current feud between HYBE and its subsidiary ADOR has engaged not only BTS and NewJeans in a contentious agency conflict, but also aespa, who are under SM Entertainment. The growing popularity of aespa may have posed a threat to HYBE’s girl group, which might explain why, in an alleged leaked conversation with Min Hee Jin, Bang Si Hyuk was seen asking whether she could “crush them,” alluding to aespa. During the interview, reporters asked if the current issue had put more pressure on the group as they set for their comeback.
Karina replied, “We know all about the matter. Since it’s our first full-length album, we gave our all in practicing. We gained strength from the support and love [we received] and worked hard to prepare for it. I think it’ll be a satisfactory start with this first full-length album, so I am thankful for the public, as well as for our SM family and the members who have worked hard.”
