‘General Hospital’ star Johnny Wactor shot dead in robbery incident
Johnny Wactor, best known for his work on General Hospital as Brando Corbin, was tragically shot and killed early on Saturday morning in Los Angeles.
As per TMZ, which cited Wactor’s mother and police, the 37-year-old actor was shot Saturday morning in downtown Los Angeles after he and his friend spotted three persons attempting to steal his car’s catalytic converter.
Scarlett Wactor, Johnny Wactor’s mother, informed TMZ that the actor didn’t fight back when he faced the criminals but was still shot. Meanwhile, the three escaped the scene; the identities of the suspects have been kept under wraps.
There have been no arrests at this time. According to an LAPD report, a male was fatally shot at 3:00 a.m. on Saturday near the intersection of Pico Boulevard and Hope Street. The victim is said to have stopped a crime in progress, as three suspects attempted to steal the catalytic converter from his vehicle. The local hospital pronounced Wactor dead at the hospital shortly after 3:00 AM.
David Shaul, Johnny’s talent agent, confirmed his death in a statement to Variety, saying, “Johnny Wactor was a spectacular human being. Not just a talented actor who was committed to his craft but a real moral example to everyone who knew him. Standing for hard work, tenacity and a never-give-up attitude. In the highs and lows of a challenging profession, he always kept his chin up and kept striving for the best he could be.” Adding further he said, “Our time with Johnny was a privilege we would wish on everyone. He would literally give you the shirt off his back. After over a decade together, he will leave a hole in our hearts forever.”
