Glen Powell Eyed to Star in J.J. Abrams’ Next Movie

After Anyone But You’s success, Glen Powell is undoubtedly and deservedly riding the wave of fame in Hollywood. Powell is now on his way to probably working with renowned filmmaker J.J. Abrams, continuing his run of signing big-budget films following the commercial and critical success of the last film. According to The Hollywood Reporter, no deal has yet been signed, and no major details about the project have been revealed, although Powell is Abrams’ favourite choice for the role.

The duo also produced Paul Crowder’s documentary film The Blue Angels, which will be released in cinemas on May 17 and streamed on Prime Video the following week. According to THR, the project documents a year spent with the Navy’s renowned Flight Demonstration Squadron.

Meanwhile, Glen will next appear in Netflix’s Hit Man, where he also served as a co-writer. He is also going to star in Edgar Wright’s The Running Man remake for Paramount. Twisters is another huge project in the works for the Top Gun: Maverick actor, as is Chad Powers, a half-hour comedy for Hulu starring Loki creator Michael Waldron.

Powell is also set to feature with Anthony Mackie and Laura Dern in writer-director John Lee Hancock’s Monsanto, which is expected to be a big hit at the Cannes Film Festival.
