Dua Lipa drops new full-length album Radical Optimism after four years
On Friday, May 3, Dua Lipa’s third studio album, Radical Optimism, was officially released. It is her first full-length album in four years, having released Future Nostalgia in 2020, and has eleven tracks. Houdini, the album’s lead single, was released by the 28-year-old vocalist in November of last year. In February and April of 2024, two further singles—Training Season and Illusion—were released. Ian Kirkpatrick, Kevin Parker, Andrew Wyatt and Danny L. Harle are the co-producers.
The singer first announced the album in a cover story with Rolling Stone earlier this year, explaining how it captures the emotion of adjusting to single life following a breakup. “Dating, I think overall, is just a little confusing,” she said to the outlet at that time.

“It’s either through friends of friends or people you trust where you can meet new people, because [dating] is not really so straightforward when you are, I guess, a public person,” she said. When asked what the album truly “represents,” Lipa replied, “It is that feeling of chaos and danger and unexpected things coming into your periphery and remaining calm in the face of it.”
