Harvey Weinstein, the disgraced producer, cut a curious figure as he showed up at a Manhattan courtroom today. His appearance follows the New York Court of Appeals’ decision last week to reverse his rape conviction. Weinstein, who had lately been spotted using a wheelchair owing to health issues, was brought in handcuffs. He wore a new suit and a single, unidentified tag on his cuff, which drew unwanted attention to his appearance.

Weinstein’s attorneys are determined to file an appeal, but the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office has made suggestions for seeking a retrial for the case. May 29 is the date of the next hearing.

“At the time the jury was deciding the evidence in California, they were working under the assumption and the belief that he had properly been convicted in New York, Now we know that’s not true,” Jennifer Bonjean, the attorney managing Weinstein’s California appeal, told Variety.
