Chris Hemsworth reveals how close he came to losing Thor role to his brother Liam Hemsworth
Chris Hemsworth, who is best known for playing Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, lately said in a video interview that he and his younger brother, actor Liam Hemsworth, both auditioned for the role of this superhero.
The 40-year-old Chris revealed to Vanity Fair that his 34-year-old brother had auditioned for the role of Thor. Despite the fact that they were both competing for it, there was no rivalry because their involvements took turns.
Chris Hemsworth further elaborated on this casting dynamic in a lie detector test administered by the aforementioned portal, expressing excitement at maybe witnessing his sibling be chosen first and then regaining an opportunity for himself later.
“I was told I didn’t have the part at that point. So I was excited for him, a little jealous maybe but I was excited for him, the actor responded. He stated that their auditions did not overlap, therefore there was no direct rivalry.
When questioned whether he ever wanted to play any of Liam’s previous roles, such as those in the 2010 romantic film The Last Song, Chris quickly answered, “No.” But he laughed when asked about that specific movie, which infamously featured Liam opposite Miley Cyrus, and said how much his brother’s life would not have been affected if he had been cast instead.
