In its first three days alone, ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ sold 1.5 million copies in the United States, breaking Swift’s prior first-week sales records and surpassing Adele’s historic success with ’25.’ Swift has been seen as a powerful force in the music industry because of this incredible achievement.

Given Swift’s history of chart-topping albums, Keith Caulfield, managing director of charts & data operations at Billboard, speculates that in the coming years, her unmatched success may even surpass that of The Beatles.
